CFY Pinellas and the Hulk Hogan Foundation brought the community together on August 13 for an evening of golf, friendly competition, and support for local youth at the CFY & Hulk Hogan Foundation Topgolf Tournament, presented by Nextiny Marketing.
More than a night at Topgolf, the fundraiser helped create opportunities for young people throughout Pinellas County. A portion of tournament proceeds will support a $10,000 post-secondary scholarship in memory of Hulk Hogan, while donations also help CFY continue breaking down financial barriers to youth athletics.
That impact is already visible across our community. In the weeks surrounding the tournament, CFY presented more than $57,000 in grants to three local youth football and cheer programs, helping with registration costs, equipment, and access to sports for local families.

The CFY & Hulk Hogan Foundation Topgolf Tournament brought players and supporters together at Topgolf St. Petersburg for an evening centered on fun, connection, and giving back.
Guests enjoyed tournament play, food and drinks, raffles, prizes, and plenty of friendly competition throughout the evening.
We were also excited to welcome special guests:
Their participation helped make the tournament a memorable community event, but the larger purpose was supporting opportunities for Pinellas County youth.
Every team registration, raffle ticket, donation, and contribution helps CFY continue investing in programs that give local children opportunities to learn, play, and grow.
There was no shortage of friendly competition during the tournament. We want to congratulate the evening’s top three teams:
Guests also had the chance to win raffle prizes and giveaways throughout the evening, including:
Congratulations to our winners, and thank you to everyone who participated.
The tournament results gave us plenty to celebrate, but an even bigger win is what the funds raised can mean for local students and young athletes.
One of the most meaningful outcomes of the fundraiser is a new educational opportunity for a local student.
A portion of tournament proceeds will support a $10,000 post-secondary scholarship in memory of Hulk Hogan.
Educational scholarships are an important part of CFY’s mission. We believe students should have opportunities to continue learning after high school, and financial circumstances should not stand in the way of those goals.
CFY supports multiple educational pathways for Pinellas County students, including traditional college and university education, St. Petersburg College, and vocational or trade programs.
For students and families facing the costs of post-secondary education, scholarships can help reduce financial barriers and make the next step more attainable.
The scholarship supported through this year’s tournament is one more example of how community generosity can create a lasting opportunity for a local student.
The impact of community support also reaches local football fields, cheer programs, gyms, and other places where Pinellas County children learn, compete, and grow.
For many families, registration fees, uniforms, equipment, and other participation expenses can make youth sports difficult to afford. CFY’s grant program helps local organizations reduce those barriers and give more children the chance to participate.
Over the past two weeks, we visited three youth football and cheer programs to present grants that show exactly what this support can accomplish.
CFY presented the Clearwater Jr. Tornadoes with a $12,986 Youth Athlete Registration Reimbursement Grant.
This grant was made possible through funds raised at CFY’s Annual Art Capogna Memorial Golf Classic and will help ensure more young athletes have the opportunity to participate in sports.
The Seminole Seahawks received $21,650 through CFY’s Youth Athlete Registration Reimbursement and Equipment Supplement Grant.
This funding will help:
Joining us for the check presentation was former MLB outfielder and Seminole native Brett Phillips, who returned to the fields where his own youth sports journey began.
Brett shared memories of growing up in the Seminole community and participating in local youth programs, connecting his experience to the same kinds of opportunities young athletes continue to receive today.
CFY also presented the Pinellas Park T-Birds with a $22,650 Youth Athlete Registration Reimbursement Grant.
The funding will help support registration costs and make it possible for more young athletes to participate in sports without financial barriers standing in the way.
Together, these three grants represent $57,286 in direct support for local youth football and cheer programs.
CFY’s broader grant program is designed to provide equipment, funding, and opportunities that help more children participate in athletics, and the organization supports youth-serving programs throughout Pinellas County.
These recent check presentations are a powerful example of what community support can make possible. Through donations to CFY, local children and students gain access to experiences and opportunities that can make a lasting difference in their lives.
Donations can help provide:
CFY’s endowment helps offset administrative costs, allowing donated funds to directly support children and programs throughout Pinellas County.
Events like the Topgolf Tournament are made possible by businesses, organizations, and community partners that choose to invest in Pinellas County youth.
CFY would like to extend a special thank you to Nextiny Marketing, presenting sponsor of the CFY & Hulk Hogan Foundation Topgolf Tournament, for helping make this year’s event possible.
We are also grateful to all of the additional sponsors who supported the tournament:

The Topgolf Tournament brought our community together for one evening, but the impact of that support reaches much further.
A portion of the proceeds will help fund a new post-secondary scholarship in memory of Hulk Hogan, while continued donations allow CFY to support youth programs like the Clearwater Jr. Tornadoes, Seminole Seahawks, Pinellas Park T-Birds, and many others across the county.
Whether through athletic grants, educational scholarships, or community events, CFY remains focused on creating meaningful opportunities for Pinellas County youth. To everyone who participated, donated, purchased a raffle ticket, or joined us at Topgolf, thank you for being part of that impact.
