Scholarship FAQ
Any high school senior who attends a Pinellas County High School, public or private, may apply for the CFY SPC Scholarship which is only for students who plan to attend St. Petersburg College.
Scholarships are awarded to cover the cost of tuition (30 credits per year) and books only and is valued at $9,000 for the two years. Scholarships are payable over the first two years of schooling provided the applicant has met all criteria for first- and second-year funding.
Scholarship funds may be used for tuition (30 credits per year), books only. It is the students responsibility to work with your school to apply funds appropriately. Failure to do so may result in withholding of future funds. Any unused funds are to be returned to CFY.
Since this approval for is for St. Petersburg College only it is nontransferable. A written (email) submission showing withdrawal must be sent to scholarships@cfypinellas.org to remain in good standing with CFY. The student is responsible for requesting a refund from St. Petersburg College, payable to CFY to remain in good standing with CFY.
To avoid forfeited scholarship funds, a written (email) submission indicating you are taking time off must be sent to scholarships@cfypinellas.org. Scholarship commitments by CFY are good for three years following high school graduation and will be withdrawn and funds awarded to another deserving student in the next cycle.
Students are required to submit the following by June 15th to scholarships@cfypinellas.org following their first year to avoid delays in their second-year funding:
- Official transcript showing full time status and grade point average
- A thank you letter to the donor including an update on what the first-year experience has meant to your development
- Fall course schedule
